Jose and Estrella Fernandez founded J & E Fernandez, Inc. in 1986. What began as an elective in college turned into a company that has been in business for over 30 years. Jose was originally a computer tech major in college and took Accounting as an elective his freshman year. Accounting quickly became his favorite subject and eventually he declared Accounting as his new major. Jose, an 18-year supervisor at Tampa Armature Work, was going to school full time, working full time, and had 3 kids at home. Once he received his degree in Accounting, Jose quit his long-term job and opened an Accounting firm with 0 clients. Jose’s wife, Estrella, was a mortgage broker who was also making very good money at the time, quit her job to help Jose live out his dream of owning a successful accounting firm. Estrella’s parents gave Jose a typewriter, calculator, printer and a desk as a new company gift while they worked out of their garage in the late 80s. Through perseverance, determination, and the shear will to succeed, Jose and Estrella are President and Vice President of an Accounting firm and Payroll company, which service hundreds of businesses throughout the United States.
